Is vaping safer than smoking?

UK health authorities have stated that vaping is significantly less harmful than smoking — but it is not risk-free. Vaping is intended as a harm-reduction tool for adult smokers, not for non-smokers or under-18s.

How do your reviews work?

We test every device hands-on for at least a week of daily use, scoring flavour, build quality, battery life, ease of use and value for money. Our full methodology is published in our Review Policy, and you can browse every review in our Reviews archive.

Do you get paid for positive reviews?

No. Our scores cannot be bought. We do earn affiliate commission if you buy through some of our links, which funds our independent testing — see our Affiliate Disclosure for the full details.

What is the best vape for a beginner?

Most beginners do best with a simple refillable or prefilled pod kit. Start with our Beginner’s Guide to Vaping, then see our current top picks in Best Vapes 2026.
